Garry at Sundown Villas in Symonston, a commercial property, was referred to us by his electrician while completing a large pergola and BBQ area for communal use. He needed a compliant gas line for multiple BBQ stations and a robust rainwater harvesting system to capture runoff from the pergola roof.
The existing 30-year-old commercial gas supply no longer met current standards, so Canberra Water, Gas & Air removed all old pipework and installed a full new gas network. We poured a reinforced concrete pad for the LPG bottle array and cut the slab to run a commercial-grade water line to a tap beside the BBQ area for easy cleaning and maintenance.
Once the commercial BBQ plumbing was complete, we turned our attention to the rainwater harvesting system. We poured a dedicated concrete slab for a large-capacity tank and pump, then laid 100 mm UPVC drainage pipe around the pergola to direct all roof runoff into the tank. The collected rainwater now irrigates the shared gardens and tops up the pool during warmer months.
If you’re planning a commercial outdoor entertaining area or a large-scale rainwater harvesting solution, call Canberra Water, Gas & Air to discuss your project.
