Garry at Sundown Villas in Symonston was referred to use from his electrician.
They had just built a new large pergola and BBQ area and he was after someone to install a new gas line for the new BBQs as well as install a rain water harvesting system to catch all the rain water off the new pergola.
Due to the age of the old BBQ installation it no longer complied to todays gas standards so rather then fixing up the existing 30year old gas supply, Canberra Water, Gas & Air removed all the old gas supply pipework. Then installed a whole new system as well as concreting a new pad for the LPG bottle to be mounted on.
While we had the concrete slab cut open to install the new gas line to the BBQ’s we also installed a water line for the installation of a tap beside the BBQ’s for cleaning.
Once the BBQ installation was complete it was onto the rainwater harvesting system.
Canberra Water, Gas & Air poured a new concrete slab for the rainwater tank and pump system to be positioned on. Then we installed 100mmUPVC drainage pipe around the pergola into the tank.
All the rainwater collected off this pergola is used to irrigate the surrounding gardens as well as top up the swimming pool in the warmer months.
